The Answer: support for new versions?

The Answer:  No. The best manuscripts support the Bible, the Authorized Version.

The Explanation:

The new versions are only supported by about five of the over 5,000 manuscripts of Bible text. Critics of the Bible claim that these manuscripts are better than those used by the translators of the Authorized Version. This is not so.

The two most prominent of these, Vaticanus, which is sole property of the Roman Catholic Church, and Sinaiticus are both known to be overwhelmed with errors. It is said that Sinaiticus has been corrected and altered by as many as ten different writers. In Vaticanus is found the evidence of very sloppy workmanship. Time and again words and whole phrases are repeated twice in succession or completely omitted. While the entire manuscript has had the text mutilated by some person or persons who ran over every letter with a pen making exact identification of many of the characters impossible.

Both manuscripts contain uninspired, anti-scriptural books which are not found in the Bible.

The only place where these error laden, unreliable manuscripts excel is in the quality of the materials used on them. They have good bindings and fine animal skin pages. Their physical appearance, contrary to their worthless texts, are really rather attractive. But then we have all heard the saying, “You can’t tell a book by it’s cover”. The covers are beautiful but their texts are reprehensible.

And yet in spite of these well known corruptions, they are the basis for many new versions such as the New American Standard Version and the New International Version rendering these versions critically flawed and unreliable.

The manuscripts represented by the King James Bible have texts of the highest quality. So we see that the best manuscripts are those used by the King James translators.

  1. Kate Narkiewicz

When I was first studying this issue, I learned that the Authorized Version or KJV is the only version without a copyright. Meaning all the other “versions” out there someone is making money off of them.
The fact that the KJV did not have a copyright seemed to be the most like God’s character as I can’t imagine he wouldn’t want people making money on his word which is free to all people. Eventhough I was first saved off of the NIV version. God is a gracious and merciful God despite how us humans mess things up.

  2. Just for the record, the Authorized Version has always had a copyright. In fact, it is the only version of the Bible in the English language that is copyrighted by a government: the British crown. The only reason that your copy of the KJV doesn’t have one is because it was printed in America, where our government stopped recognizing British copyright laws during the American Revolution.

  3. The reason that Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus contain non-canonical books is that they are not manuscripts, as Mr. Gipp suggests. They are in fact codex’s, which are collections of ancient manuscripts and not meant to be a canonized Bible. The Old and New Testament were not canonized until later in the fourth century anyway, so there is not reason to suspect that it should be canonized.

My main problem with the KJVO movement is its insistence on an infallible textual basis. The case is not as open and shut as some have you to believe. For instance, the KJV is not based on the majority of the Byzantine texts and the 5,000 or so manuscripts that compose it. In fact, there is not one complete “canonized” Byzantine text, only partials. The reason that some reference Sinaiticus and Vaticanus so often is that they are the most complete manuscripts that we have. The KJV is based off of the Textus Receptus, or so-called received text. The TR is based off of six late-dated Byzantine manuscripts, which was all that Erasmus could get his hands on. For the book of Revelation, he had almost no Greek text support and relied mostly on the Latin Vulgate for his translation work. This is why we find several verses in the KJV that actually have no Greek text support (apart from the TR) but are found in the Latin. They were additions that the Catholic church (of which he was a strong professing member) pressured him to include, often at the expense of his judgment.

That being said, there has been a Greek text compiled that goes with the reading of the majority of the Byzantine text readings. There are, however, some 2,300 differences between the reading of the TR and the reading of the Majority Text. It is therefore erroneous to try to base one’s support of the KJV on the worth of the Byzantine text. Erasmus practiced textual criticism. Everyone must practice textual criticism. No Greek text offers a reading that is so far removed from the original that it threatens to distort Scripture and good theology. But we cannot ignore the fact that the texts do vary in small degree. I think the main tenet of KJV onlyism is that we don’t like the way that God preserved His Word. He has preserved it with some variation. Some of it is just spelling, some is omissions, and some are additions and explanations. But to say that modern versions distort Scripture and threaten theology is to do serious harm to the cause of Christ. Most of the versions coming out in foreign countries are based off of the UBS text (the textual basis for the NASB and ESV). So it is fair to say that most of Christianity are relying on “modern versions.” We can’t just spout off the same old line of arguments. We have to think through this again. God saved me from the writings of Gail Riplinger and Dell Johnson. I thought I was totally and dogmatically write and that nothing could change my mind on it. But God was gracious to lay root to my arrogance. And I still love the KJV, don’t get me wrong. But I think I’ve learned you can’t just demonize and rip apart our brothers and sisters. As Fundamentalists have ripped apart conservative evangelicals over music, dress, Calvinism, and modern versions, conservative evangelicals have protected their Fundamentalist brothers from the major theological battles of the day, such as Open Theism, the New Perspective, Federal Vision theology, militant atheism, postmodernism, the emergent church, and most recently universalism. We haven’t seen a whole lot of Fundamentalist leaders step up to give us answers. It’s been men like Piper, Mark Dever, Wayne Grudem, Don Carson, and many others who have earnestly contended for the faith. And they all use modern versions. So don’t keep shooting them in the back. If we want to continue the diatribe against this horrible sin, we would have to go after many more men, such as R.A. Torrey, C.H. Spurgeon, and even John R. Rice. Let’s have a little more grace.

    • Thanks for posting this; I agree.

It really seems that much of the damage to the cause of Christ is caused from within the ranks of Christianity itself. The opposition hardly needs to do anything at all, aside from sit back and watch as Christians go around displaying the polar opposite of John 13:35.

    • Heather may have disowned me after my recent diatribes. Could you come out and play?

  4. Ewww… too bad none of that is true! Also, the KJV did have a copyright. And it still does. The Queen of England owns it actually.

  5. Excellent post, Joel. Shows just how KJVonlyism is more a hurt to the Christian faith than a help. I believe that the KJV is the best translation, but I do because of the intellectual opinion of people I trust. To place trust in a single translation such as the KJV as the only and absolute authority on scripture is to put your faith in a work of man and not of God. To put our faith in man’s work as God’s authority is equal to putting our faith in a golden calf as God’s authority.

  6. I believe that knowing God’s heart and accepting His word as divinely inspired, is more important than arguing over which translation I will read to grow in Christ. I will always defer to the KVJ if I have a question about a particular scripture, but only for clarification. It may be that we, us, individuals ,,,, are the only ‘Bible’ someone ever comes in contact with. However you interpret God’s word is evident on your face, in your mouth and your hands and feet. Is there an invitation on your lips for someone who doesn’t even know what KJV or NIV or ASV even stands for? If we are to question every jot and tittle in a particular translation, then we may miss the “heart” of His word.

    • . Some ptions I agree with readily, other ptions I’m not sure about. However, I do know God’s Word has all the answers, and that’s where my faith lies. Thanks again, and keep up the good work/writing on this blog.God bless!

  7. I am a bit dyslexic sometimes…KJV…and KVJ are one and the same…sorry..

  8. This is an interesting post. The only thing I would suggest is: Always try to see the purpose behind the translation. For example many people think the KJV is the peoples translation, i.e. the one for the people, this is not true. The King James Version is a very politically focused book, makes sense as it was set in motion by King James, who, was having an interesting time making a lot of political people unhappy, and who, like his predecessors wanted a bible with his name on it. Plus the late King James is not exactly known for his integral Christ like life…

Saying all this…it is not the bible that saves, it is God. When we banter around which translations we prefer or feel more comfortable with we must make sure that we don’t confuse the bible with the one true God. God is father, son, spirit. Not father, son…bible. I often wonder if we subconsciously add that in.

I will add though…I don’t have the ultimate answer and I am not claiming to be right on this and therefore everyone must agree…But this is where I am at the moment in regards to translations 🙂

    Be blessed family!

  9. Gentlemen,

With your indulgence, please allow me to share with you on this controversial issue.
I was raised as a Catholic until such time I knew the truth sometime 1984 in Saudi Arabia. The first bible I brought there is the small TEV (NT only) small book. I was reading on it and it does not have any impact in my heart until 2 of my colleagues came and shared to me the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of them offered and gave his King James Bible for me to use. I was looking at the glance on the preface and had just saw the chapters, the letters, words composition and its structure and I was really amazed and I said wow! this is something different to what I have. I felt something in my heart enthusiasm to read and study it. From there onward and every night it challenged me to read more closer especially the Words. I am not a Christian yet, but these 2 guys kept on coming to me and bottom line I was fully convince that my former belief was entirely wrong. So I kept on reading the KJB and I felt something deep in my heart to know more about Christ. It started to change my old bad habits, vices, attitude towards other people because I often curse other people and those evil thoughts that I had. That King James Bible on 1984 had really changed my life on different direction. I had struggled with my wife on sharing the gospel and finally convinced her that we should stop going to Catholic church. All my family were surprised on this and later they became Christian. From that time my spiritual life is keep on growing.

On 1989, I went back to saudi arabia and brought my KJB back, however, it was confiscated by the saudi custom officials when they open luggage and found my Bible. They said it’s haram (not allowed). I came back to Manila and went to the christian bookstore to buy a new one on 1994. I bought an NIV, I used this version to conduct bible studies and I remember that there is one I could not found in the NIV that Jesus said to Paul “it is hard for you to kick against the pricks”. I knew that there was that words. When I conducted a book series study on the Book of Daniel, God showed me something that the book that I am using is not consistent and they are in contrary from one book and chapter and verses to the other. That triggers me to sit back and make a pause and said to my self, “just hold on a minute”. I was shock when I found that the NIV had removed so many words and verses that changes the doctrine of Christ. I said oh! oh! I think I got a wrong Bible. So God allowed me to search and to go back to where I found him. I compared the other new version i.e. NASV, NKJV, AB, NWT, NCB, NLT, NLB .. etc. and I found out that all these new versions are speaking on the same language so I started to search as where does these new versions comes from and what is is the source of these translations and why they are different from the King James Bible.

Sometimes in Y2004, I found out that those new versions are rooted from the Alexandrian Text while the KJB is rooted from the church of Antioch where the Apostles gathered, the first gentile church as Jerusalem for the Jews. I tried to study the background of some translators of the NIV and found that there is homosexual translator who led one of the translation committee and I said wait a minute, this is not correct. I also heard the voice of the chief editor of NASV who wrote the preface of that version, even sat down and interviewed the translators before their project began. After the project was completed, the books went to the market then later he found out and said that he denounced their work that it is absolutely wrong and he was convinced that the Authorized Version KJB is the true and the right Bible to be used. He thought that it was too late and what he did, he went to the churches as many as he can, telling them not to use the NASV before he died.

I was so discouraged of myself that the second bible (NIV) I used found out that these demote the position of JesusChrist and they do not believe His Deity. They always put Jesus Christ down and there were lot of errors I saw. Bottom line, I started to convince my churche to use the King James Bible and avoid those corrupted new versions.

Now let me ask you the following questions:

    1. What Bible was used to evangelized america before it became USA?
    2. What Bible was used as the foundation for the US constitution?
    3. What Bible was Pres. George Washington referring to when he said during declaration of US independence that “We cannot mandate and create a law without the Bible”?
    4. What Bible was used by the early US president i.e. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and the fathers of the US constitution?
    5. What Bible was used to evangelized European continent, Afrikan continent, ASIA and China, and the rest?
    6. What Bible was used to shape the western and the eastern world after the dark age.
    6. Which of those Bibles nowadays that endures for 400years and counting and still maintaining its supremacy, its magnificent beauty, its excellency, its infallibility, and its inerrant until now?

    Tell me if you know.

Sorry to keep you reading so long but I just want to share my experienced to you guys.
God bless to all of you!

    • Eddie that’s great for you. But what off the people who have similar testimony from other translations? (about meeting Jesus) Is their testimony null and void because of your belief about the KJV?

  10. Nick, God by His tender mercy and lovingkindness will find a way to save millions of people who had read other modern translations and will bring them to the Way and Truth. Like what I wrote above, I was in Catholic that time and I read that TEV with no impact to me, I don’t have any knowledge about the King James Bible until such time the LORD brought me to read it. He did that while I was an unbeliever how much more for the Christians.

I had many Christians friends of different churches and everytime when I shared this truth to them, they listened and stop reading those new versions.

One time, the LORD impressed me to share this to the pastor in the rural area far from me. Email was used and conveyed with my presentation in .ppt and that Pastor told me as soon as he open the powerpoint I made, he was very surprised and amazed. He read my presentation on that saturday night immediately the LORD moved his heart to switch the sermon using the King James Bible. From that time, the whole church started to use the KJB. They would not know unless someone will explain.

    • Edwardo! Firstly let me apologise – my first reply having reread it – seems a bit abrupt and possibly insincere. I really did mean that it’s great for you and my question was genuine, born out of curiosity.

However, I have to respectfully disagree on the KJV being the only ‘true’ version and others being corrupt. I just think God is bigger than that.

Glad to hear you are not closed to God being God and reaching people however He decides!

      Cheers

      • Nick,

Formerly, I also felt and I thought all the Bible versions incl. the KJB are one, and it came to the point that when I read and study through the text on KJB and compared to the modern versions, I found big difference, it is unique, and I saw the beauty of perfection on how the text are connected to each other, the syntax, the pronouns, the verbal expressions are magnificently formed. Why I said their is beauty because there is a rythym in english language in it for the common people. I am sorry, I cannot see that in the modern versions. I don’t want to offend you, the modern versions are corrupt, they are counterfeit used by Satan to attack the Word of God which was preserved in the King James Bible. Satan’s is to add and delete the words of God as he did when he beguiled Eve in the garden of Eden.

“2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Here are the examples, you make your judgment and study it carefully:
        —————————————————————————-
        * KJB – Colossians 1:14  “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”

        * NIV – Colossians 1:14  “In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

Hebrews 9:22 says …”and without shedding of blood is no remission.”  The devil hates the blood of Jesus because it is the source of eternal life for all those that believe.  The NIV has taken the source of salvation completely out of this verse.
        —————————————————————————–
*KJB – Revelation 1:8  “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord.”
NIV – Revelation 1:8  “I am the Alpha and the Omega.”

“Alpha an Omega” is the first and the last letter of Greek alphabet which is used to combine a word. Yahshua represents the Word and the law of God for all things were made by the Word of God Ps. 33:6, Jn. 1:3, Eph. 3:9.
“Beginning and the Ending” It means that he is the beginning and the end of all things; and it is thus equivalent to saying that he has always existed, and that he will always exist. The obvious interpretation here would be to apply this to the Lord Jesus; for:
        (a) it is he who is spoken of in the verses preceding, and
        (b) there can be no doubt that the same language is applied to him in Rev_1:11.
        ———————————————————————————————-
The last two verses I want you to look at are Rev. 1:8 & 11. What I want you to notice is in verse 8 God, the Almighty, is speaking then in verse 11 Jesus is speaking. The verses read as follows:

NIV- 8. I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
        11. which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

NASV- 8. I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
        11. saying, “Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”

NWT- 8. I am the Al’pha and the Omega,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.”
        11. saying: “What you see write in a scroll and send it to the seven congregations, in Ephesus and in Smyrna and in Pergamum and in Thyatira and in Sardis and in Philadelphia and in Laodicea.”

        Here is the KJB:

KJV- 8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
        11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (emphasis mine)

Now if you look carefully, you will see that in each version God refers to Himself in verse 8 by saying, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending”. But what you don’t see in the NIV, NASV, and NWT is that Jesus says the same thing about Himself in verse 11 making Him equal with God. They (NIV, NASV, NWT, et aL) have omitted the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:” from verse 11. Here again they deny Jesus that He is in fact God. I find it very alarming that the NIV and NASV again go along with the NWT in their translation. Another attack by Satan on the Words of God. KJB is preserved by God from Satan’s attack so that you will not be deceived.
        ———————————————————————————————-
Another attack on the Sonship of Jesus can be found in Acts 3:13, 4:27, and 4:30. For the article we will only look at Acts 3:13:

NIV- The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.

        NASV- The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus;

NWT – The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has glorified his Servant, Jesus,

        KJV – The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus;

Again, the NIV and the NASV are joining with the NWT. Now Jesus is no longer a “Son” but rather a “servant”. They are fun of demoting Jesus down in one level. What a Satanic attack.
        ——————————————————————————-
Btw, NWT (New World Translation) is the bible of Jehovah’s witnesses and I think you are not a Jehovah’s witness.
        ———————————————————————————–
For our next example we want to look at Romans 14:10b&12. Remember we are talking about how the modern versions take away from the Deity of Christ as found in scripture. Romans 14:10b&12 reads as follows:

NIV- “…For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.”
NASV- …For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God. 12 So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.
NWT- …For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God; 12 So, then, each of us will render an account for himself to God.
KJB- …for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Here the change is very subtle but has great implications. As you see in the NIV, NASV, and NWT each of them says we will stand before “God’s judgment seat” and then we will give an account to “God”. However, the KJB renders it quite different. The KJB says we will stand before the “judgment seat of Christ” and then we will give an account to “God”. Here is a very clear statement by the KJB that Christ is indeed God. Again the NIV and the NASV agreed with the NWT in making the change from “Christ” to “God” in Rom. 14:10 thus in these verses they deny the Deity of Christ.
        ——————————————————————————————–

Perhaps one of the most favorite verses of the modern version is I John 5:7. This is the clearest text on the Trinity of the entire Bible. Here we see clearly that Jesus and God are one. I John 5:7 reads as follows:

NIV- For there are three that testify:
NASV- And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
NWT- For there are three witness bearers,
KJB- For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Here you can see that the NIV and the NASV are again in agreement with the NWT. All of them omitted the wonderful phrase “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” which plainly speaks of Jesus’ Deity. Again we can see that the NIV and NASV have sided with the NWT in denying the Deity of Christ. Since there is so much controversy regarding I John 5:7.
        ——————————————————————————————–
KJB Gal. 6:15 – “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”

NIV Gal. 6:15 – “Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”

***** NIV removed “For in Christ Jesus” for it is not important to them.
        ————————————————————————————————
KJV – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

NIV – “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”

Again NIV removed the name of Christ. They said it is not in their
earlier manuscript. At least they are honest that they are referring to
the Textual critics which comes from Alexandrian corrupt Greek text.
        ———————————————————————————————–
KJV – Mark 9:29  ”And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

NIV – Mark 9:29  “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

Satan knows if Christian will fast they will gain strength to fight him and avoid his temptation. The NIV has removed fasting from this verse and added the word “only” prayer. Satan always mis-applied the Scripture.
        ————————————————————————————————
KJB – Jn 6:47 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.”
NIV – Jn. 6:47 “I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life”

Believes who? What a corrupted text? They removed “on Me”
which refers to the identity of Jesus Christ Himself. Seems light but it is grievous.
        —————————————————————————————————
KJB – Isaiah 14:12  “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!”
NIV – Isaiah 14:12  “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!”

Lucifer’s name in Heb. is called “heylel” from the verb “halal” – “to shine” name
was removed in NIV and all the new versions.

“Morning Star” is the attribute of JesusChrist in Rev. 22:16

Rev. 2:28 KJB Jesus said “And I will give him the morning star”

Rev. 2:28 NIV Jesus said “And I will also give him the morning star”

You think Jesus will give us Lucifer, the Adversary “Satan”?
Why the new versions nowadays use “Morning Star” for Jesus Christ as the
fallen Angel called Lucifer? This is blasphemy.
        ——————————————————————-
KJB – Rev. 2:16 “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly…”
NIV – Rev. 2:16  “Repent therefore!  Otherwise, I will soon come to you…”

The Lord Jesus said “ I will come unto thee quickly” from the Greek word “tachu” without delay and not “soon”. This is spiritual, that means He will come quickly to fight against the false doctrine i.e. Nicolaitanes by His word.
        ———————————————————————-
KJB – Luke 2:33  “And Joseph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken of him.”
NIV -Luke 2:33  “The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.”

Joseph is not the father of Jesus. NIV put Jesus as if He is not born of the Holy Spirit.
        —————————————————————————-
God Promised to Preserved His Word
KJB – Ps. 12:16~17 “ The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.”

NIV – Ps. 12:16~17 “And the words of the LORD are flawless like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. O LORD, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever”

******NIV had changed the context of v.16 wherein v.17 is not related with v.16. The context is the “Words of the LORD” and not the people. They changed this simply because they do not believe that God had preserve His Word from generation forever. Their unbelief of preservation will allow them to change and corrupt God’s Word.
        —————————————————————————–
Another attack on God’s word by the new versions:

KJB – Ro.8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

NIV – Ro.8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”

****** NIV wrote an incomplete thoughts that could float the minds and hearts of the Believers. They removed “who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” What Paul explained the meaning of “in Christ Jesus” is to walk acc. to the Spirit and not acc. to the desire of your flesh which are sinful in nature.
        —————————————————————————
Open your NIV and new versions if you can see this verse:

KJB – Matt. 18:11 “For the Son of Man is come to save that which was lost”

NIV & JW New World Translation omitted this verse Matt. 18:11 for some reason but they put down in the footnote. Footnote and headings are not part of the Bible acc. to their preface.
        =============================================
KJB – Matt. 6:13 – “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

NIV – Matt. 6:13 “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.“

Why the last portion was omitted by NIV? Is it not something an eternal, omnipotent and majestic power of the Heavenly Father that was spoken by the Lord Jesus? This is again a Satanic attack to God’s Word which they derived from Alexandrian text, Wescott & hort and Nestle-Alland Text. This is another Satan’s attack.
        ——————————————————————————-
KJB – Matt. 9:13 – “I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

NIV Matt. 9:13 – “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

**** Why is “to repentance” was dropped? It is probably not important for the NIV translators, but does the message of repentance was the first preaching of Jesus? See Matt. 4:17.
        ——————————————————————————-
KJB Matt. 17:21- “Howbeit, this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.”

NIV – Omitted. This was also omitted in Jehovah’s Witness Bible NWT.

Satan omitted this verse. This might be the reason why lot of Christians who used the NIV does not want to fast only prayer.
        ——————————————————————————
KJB Mark 5:6 – “But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,”

NIV Mark 5:6 – “When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him.”

The guy fell? To fall on your knees is not worship either. NIV made an attack of the Lord Jesus being a Deity.
        ——————————————————————————
KJB Mark 7:16 – “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”

        NIV – Omitted.

Westcott and Hort whom the NIV based their translations from, didn’t like this verse since they were kind of like the Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus’ day, they didn’t have ears to hear so it went to the footnote.
        ——————————————————————————
KJB – Mark 11:26 – “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

NIV – omitted – They put it in the footnote but at least they left it in Matt. 6:15.

So it is alright not to forgive and your Heavenly Father will forgive your trespasses? Absolutely not. God forbid. NIV omitted this perhaps they would find it difficult to forgive others. Another Satanic attack from W&H & NA greek text. Acc. to their preface, footnote is not part of their Bible.
        ——————————————————————————————
KJV – Acts 8:37 – “And Philip said, If thou believeth with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

        NIV – Omitted

“It is out and dropped in the footnote. Footnote is not part of the Bible acc. to the preface of NIV Translators. Once they dropped the Word of God then that will not become part of the Scripture. This is another attempt that NIV denies the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.
        ——————————————————————————

The modernists are fan to have modern styles.. modern bibles, etc. Satan knew the weakness of men, that if there is “new brand” people will grab it.
Mal. 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; …,” so does His word.

I still have many verses to post on this thread.

My apology for a very long post on your reply. Hope you will not feel tired on reading and studying esp. the verse comparisons above.

I challenge you to read through and study the King James Bible. Only God can looks to our own heart. If a man believe that the KJB is the inerrant, infallible, and the perfect Bible for the english speaking people, then he will see the purity of God’s Word.

        Have a wonderful day!
        God Bless.

        • Wowzers. I am actually speechless. All I can say is I have used the NIV all my life (along with many other translations) and have never ever seen them deny Christ’s deity at all and I still don’t.

To me the God who is big enough to create the world and everything in it is big enough to get the version of His book he wants in my hands in my hands.

I have seen/heard all these arguments before and they sadden me. I’d rather not waste time arguing with another Christian about this when there is a world that needs saving. With that I respectfully bow out of this conversation.

          • Nick, you need to open your eyes (spiritual eyes). Go back to Gen 3:1~5, this is the root cause of this. Satan is very subtle by adding the word of God. Take a closer look on v.4, “Ye shall not surely die”. He added the word “not” as his cohorts the new versions are doing today. That is the root cause. You did not notice it, since you only use one book (NIV).
Let me ask you. Have you seen a counterfeit dollar notes? If yes, try to compare it with the original one. The fake notes copied as much as it can, unless you examine, you will not know the difference.
This is an opening eyes to everyone. You cannot solve any problem if you do not know the root cause. Once you know the the root cause, from there you will derive permanent solution of the problem.

        • Eddie, your arguments are fundamentally flawed.

          6. Which of those Bibles nowadays that endures for 400years and counting and still maintaining its supremacy, its magnificent beauty, its excellency, its infallibility, and its inerrant until now?”

These questions, and their answers, have absolutely nothing to do with the accuracy of the KJV. George Washington was an Episcopalian. Does that mean the *most accurate* representation of Christianity is the Episcopalian church? Washington was also a Freemason, is that fact relevant too? Maybe we should all be Freemasons? You’re adding confusion to the issue by bringing up totally irrelevant information.

“Have you seen a counterfeit dollar notes? If yes, try to compare it with the original one. The fake notes copied as much as it can, unless you examine, you will not know the difference.”

All the translations currently in existence have been created from copies. There are no ‘originals’ (that we’ve discovered as of yet) to compare them to. If you believe the KJV translation is the result of direct inspiration from God, that’s a position you believe on faith. There’s no evidence to support that belief. Positioning it as a *fact* that other Christians need to believe is dishonest.

There’s nothing wrong with preferring to the KJV over other translations, but suggesting that other translations are ‘corrupt’ is counter-productive.

          • Brandon,

            Your quote:
“All the translations currently in existence have been created from copies. There are no ‘originals’ (that we’ve discovered as of yet) to compare them to.” unquote.

            My answer:
            – Yes, of course there is no more original copies, they do not exist anymore due to ages but do you believe that God preserved His Word as written in Ps. 12:6~7 ” The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

He promised to preserved His word from generations forever. You have to believe that it is only King James Bible that the Lord preserved His word in english tongue to be used for the common people. Then if it is preserved, you should know which one is? But how can you know if you will not search. We are commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to search the scripture in Jn. 5:39.

            Your quote:
“If you believe the KJV translation is the result of direct inspiration from God, that’s a position you believe on faith. There’s no evidence to support that belief.” unquote.

            My answer:
            – Yes, there are many evidences to support my belief and they are very crystal clear. I believed you had read those verse comparisons I wrote above. Are they not clear? Perhaps you have no time to read those. There are still more, that the new versions had removed, demoted the Lord Jesus Christ, putting Him down. Perhaps you do not have enough time to read and make a comparisons study. Take your time to study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You see, perhaps you are thinking that all the versions are comes from God, Absolutely not. There is only one Bible the Lord used for the english speaking people and there is no other than the King James Bible. I know it is hard for you to believe. I understand that it is difficult for you to accept the truth because most of tteh modernists I would say used their heart on thinking that all the Bibles versions are one. The Lord says in Jer. 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” do not let your heart be offended because of knowing the truth. The Lord Jesus Christ also offended those Parisees and Saducees for telling the truth, why because what he did is righteous.

            Your quote:
“There’s nothing wrong with preferring to the KJV over other translations, but suggesting that other translations are ‘corrupt’ is counter-productive.” unquote.

            My answer:
            – If the purpose is to reveal the truth and to shed light for many not only to Christians, then how can you say it is counter-productive? The evidences are crystal clear. I still have lot of verses which the new versions omitted, change the entire meaning of the verses, the key words, and other important teachings of Christ.

            Have a wonderful day!
            God bless you.

        • Eddie, again, your reasoning is faulty. How do you know the modern versions removed things from the original text, since we don’t have the originals to compare them with? Perhaps the KJV adds to the original text. Have you considered that?

You’re assuming that Psalm 12:6-7 is talking about God preserving His words, when verse 7 is actually referring to the poor and needy from verse 5. Even if verse 7 was talking about God preserving his words, it’s again your assumption that He means He’ll preserve them specifically and solely in the KJV. It requires a tremendous leap in logic to make such an assumption.

You’re using the KJV to prove that the KJV is the only true Word of God. That’s circular reasoning, and logically flawed.

          • Brandon, my reasons are not faulty. I believe you did not read through the verse comparisons I wrote above. Read it again so you will understand. On Ps. 12:6~7, you cannot see the real meaning because you are reading the corrupted versions. Read the KJB so you will know the real meaning.

You believe, there is one God, there is one Lord, and there is one Bible? If yes, then there is only one Bible that God had given to the english speaking people and it is still the supreme. infallible, inerrant and pure words of God the King James Bible. It still exist for 400years. and counting and will remain to the hearts of many.

Millions and millions of people around the world accepted the Lord Jesus Christ using the King James Bible, do you believe that?. Like I said, the modernists Christians are fan of having “new” things, buying brand new shoes, new styles, etc. but you cannot compare this to the Word of God written on King James Bible by buying a new versions
            .
I have the courage to say that those new versions are corrupted because they altered the word of God and I know where there translations are derived from. Like I said, they are came from the source of Alexandrian text, in Egypt. Read and search through it before you said that my reasons are faulty or flawed.

It is your choice if you do not believe this. May God bless you and enlighten your knowledge on knowing that the King James Bible is the only pure words of God.

  11. Eddie I do not only use one book as I have already stated, I frequently check all versions (through Biblegateway.com) including the KJV. Secondly I have never seen any dollar notes as I live in the UK.

You are right though I do need to open my spiritual eyes, and when I do do you know what I see? I see a world that is literally dying because they do not know Jesus. I see poor people getting poorer, while those with the means to do something about it do nothing. I see hungry, hurting people who don’t know where to turn so turn to anything. And I see Christians who are commanded to help these people, instead arguing about things they see as important rather than following the words of Jesus who told us the second command was to love others as we love ourselves. Maybe you too need to open your spiritual eyes, heck even your physical eyes should let you see those truths.

Eddie I am now bowing out of this conversation. If you reply I will not, as I see it as a waste of both our time.
