Snow day snippets {4.16.11}

Prophetic Thursday: Christian Bloggers to the Big Screen  –  I really have no words for this post other than this: It’s hysterical. Check it out and join in on the fun!

Counsel: Worship & the Church  –  Nick often does Question/Answer posts on different issues within Christianity. Here is one where he discusses what true worship is, the purpose of the church, and how it all relates to us as Christians.

Rob Bell on the Cover of TIME Magazine  –  Peter Cockrell’s post mirrors a post by Denny Burk about Rob Bell’s book “Love Wins.”  In the blog post there are link to two different reviews of the book – one is by Denny, the other is by Kevin DeYoung.

Garbage Pick-up from Heaven  –  Josh wrote a great post reminding us that God uses the seemingly most unlikely things to teach us something he wants us to know.

For anyone still trying to catch up on the ABC News 20/20 Report on IFB Churches, here are a few links to some articles on the matter (if you know of more, please feel free to post a link to them in the comments section):

  1. You may be glad to know “snow days” is still an appropriate title, at least if you life in a place like Wyoming. (Had a mix of snow & hail just a few minutes ago; also snow either last Saturday or Sunday.)

    Of course, there’s Wyoming, and then there’s the rest of you. A few years ago a reporter from the newspaper in Wyoming’s second-largest city, Casper, attended a conference in Hawaii. When he checked into his hotel, the desk clerk wanted his ID. He showed her his Wyoming drivers’ license. She replied “I’m sorry, sir, but you have to have an ID from the United States.”
