Sometimes, when you don’t know what to say, it’s best to let someone else do the talking.

“Real life isn’t always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgement of what is working in our lives can help us not only to survive but surmount our difficulties.” ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

“Thou that has given so much to me,
Give one thing more–a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if thy blessings had spare days;
But such a heart, whose pulse may be
Thy praise.”
~ George Herbert

“Gratitude is a vaccine, an antitoxin, and an antiseptic.” ~ John Henry Jowett

“Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend… when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present — love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure — the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth.” ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

  1. Heather Joy,

    Thank you for the example of how we should be counting our blessings… we all need the reminder.

    In answer to your question… “What are you thankful for…?” I’ll give you the top four blessings for me:

    1. My Lord and the salvation He gave to me that I did not deserve.

    2. His Word, it gives me strength, guidance and peace as I live in this fallen world.

    3. My wife, who is my unending source of support, love and care.

    4. Other friends and Christians (like yourself) who take extra time and effort to encourage, help and minister to others.

    May the Lord continue to bless you spiritually and physically.

    • Rob, thank you so much for stopping by! I loved your list – I believe those are 4 of the most important things that we could be thankful for. God’s been so good to us.
      God bless,
      Heather Joy
